- Lasts: As a laundry stain stick only, it lasts about 6 months to a year or longer (again, depending on how often used).
- NOTE! Depending on the tallow used, some bars yellow with age, so actual bar may differ in appearance from photo. They are perfectly fine. This is normal for some 100% lard bars.

My Laundry Detergent Recipe that I use in my HE washer:
3 shredded bars of my Laundry Bar
4 cups Borax
4 cups Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
8 cups Oxy powder (any brand, optional)
1/2 cups Baking Soda
This makes A LOT. It fits perfect in a large pretzel container from the club store. Measure 4 Tblsp for a full load of laundry. Your clothes will come out clean and chemical-free!
Mix a portion of the above recipe in warm water to dissolve and use as a carpet spot cleaner. Test in non-obvious place first, just to make sure it is safe for your carpet.
I have also used it on area rugs by taking them outside, soaking them with a hose, and rubbing them with a bar. After working in the soap and rinsing, I throw them over a fence to drip dry in the sun. Note: this may not be good for your particular carpet, so proceed at your own risk.
For stains, wet garment and rub into stain. Let sit for at least a few minutes, preferably overnight for really tough stains.
